BACKGROUND :

The three year £79.3m Global Better Health Programme, funded by the UK’s Prosperity Fund, will collaborate with eight partner countries as they work to continuously improve the quality of their health systems and towards achieving Universal Health Coverage. It will do this by focussing on five key areas of collaboration: NCD strategies, Digital Health, Provider Quality, Education and Training, and Life Sciences.

OBJECTIVES :

A closed half-day side meeting for the international partners of the UK’s Global Better Health Programme to share insights and experiences regarding: • Progress and early reflections on the design and early stage delivery of the programme across its partner countries; and • Latest international developments in health policy and thinking on the subject of Non-Communicable Diseases and how to reduce incidents of premature mortality particularly in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). This side meeting will facilitate learning and the sharing of best practice across the global programme, and will facilitate the development of a professional network between the public health institutions of its partner countries.
