Ms. Sheena Chhabra is a Senior Health Specialist, Health, Nutrition and Population Global Practice, South Asia Region, The World Bank. Ms. Chhabra is a seasoned health professional with over 30 years of experience – nearly four years with The World Bank; about twenty one years with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); five years with the Social and Rural Research Institute (SRI), a well-established unit of Indian Market Research Bureau; and two years of teaching and development consultancy experience with Lady Irwin College, Delhi University. At the World Bank she leads the Analytic and Advisory Services for the India Universal Health Coverage Program that among other things encompasses TA support to Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). She also co-leads the Uttarakhand Health Systems Development Project. Prior to joining the World Bank, Ms. Chhabra was the Team Leader, Health Systems Development at USAID/India. She has a strong track record of impacting national and state health programs related to universal health coverage, reproductive, maternal and child health, infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis), nutrition, and water and sanitation in India. Ms. Chhabra has a Master’s degree in Community Resource Management and Extension from the Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi.
